Medieval Sarlat, Padirac Cave & Cahors, France

In the eastern part of the Dordogne region lies Sarlat which has a beautiful medieval old town. I also visited the somewhat near-by Padirac cave which is the longest cave system in Europe, 2nd in the world. There is a 75m descent to enter the cave system, even though a lift is available, I decided to take the stairs. Next we were punted in gondolas through the underground river deeper into this cave. Last there are waiting some 300 steps to explore some of the caverns and amazing stalactites & stalagmites. Last stop in the area was Cahors.
