Today I left my comfy home near Aix-En-Provence & made my way to the French Riviera where I rented an apartment for the next few days in a little village near Nice, called La Colle-sur-Loup.
On the way I made several stops. First, I finally visited St. Maximin with it’s cathedral and huge organ. Then I stopped in Barjols which is known for many, many different fountains scattered throughout the village. The last stop for the day was to visit Cannes. Again, the rich and beautiful were definitely hiding when I was there. And, I don’t know, but I expected something else, something better, something more. All those stories you hear about, all those pictures on TV – Cannes in real life was by far not as spectacular as you’d expect. Nevertheless, Cannes has a pretty old-town and amazing views, especially on the surroundings.
