On Friday night I arrived in Cambodia. I flew into Siem Reap to visit the world heritage temples of Angkor Wat.
Originally I planned to stay for a week in Cambodia, a few days each in Siem Reap for the Angkor Wat and in Phnom Penh to catch up with Kirk, a friend from business school. Well, what should I say, I really liked it here so I decided to change plans and stay the full month till my visa expires and I have to go back to Bangkok to attend DNX Global, a conference for digital nomads like me.
I stayed two weeks in Siem Reap, visited the Angkor Wat and other temples and went on some trips to Kulen Mountain & Tonle Sap. And just enjoyed Siem Reap.
Also, I happened to be there during Chinese New Year (which actually isn’t Cambodian New Year which takes place in April). Still they had heaps of lights on the bridges and around city and on Saturday there was a parade, the Giant Puppet Parade, where shows colorful giant puppets in the shape of animals and winds itself along the Siem Reap River.
