Balinese Water Palaces

On my way from Ubud to Amed at the east coast – yeah, finally off to do some scuba diving & enjoying the beaches of Bali – I stopped by two beautiful water palaces.

The first one is called Kertha Gosa Pavilion. It’s a great example of Balinese architecture. Of course a lot of the meanwhile well known stone sculptures but also including amazing ceiling paintings which are said to be a Hindu epic.

Second stop at Tirta Gangga. This is a former royal palace, strictly a water palace  as the name Gangga refers. It has some fantastic lush gardens attached. It’s easy to spend a few hours and just enjoy the gardens & “pools”.
