At the Beach in Bali

After 3 weeks, I left Ubud and went for my last week in Bali off towards the east coast. I wanted to spend some time near the ocean and get again some world-class scuba diving under my belt.

I found that the coastal area is different from what I’ve seen in Ubud & believe it or not – it was a lot hotter and more humid than inland. I didn’t think this was possible, but Bali proved me wrong. I was super happy to spend most of my days in or under water – that made the heat bearable. I stayed at a place in Amed and was every day picked up by a driver from the Scuba Resort in Tulamben which is about a 30 minutes drive away.

The surrounding is super interesting. Not only is it by the water – finally – but also Bali’s highest mountain, a volcano of course (Bali is also on the Pacific Ring of Fire), are just close by. This gives really interesting backdrop for any photos. I especially love the traditional boats, a variety of the outrigger canoe I’ve got to know in Hawaii.
